![]() New feature: improved and integrated firmware updater for Windows. ![]() I have been using it for days without recharging it. However, the battery on the Jabra is awesome. Or you need to handle the boom mic while pressing the mute button and I am not sure that the participants appreciate when you put your fingers on the mic just because you want to press this button without folding the boom. I bet you just pressing this mute button without folding the boom mic. For example you can mute easily on the Bose whereas on the Jabra one you have this little button on the boom mic. What I like on the Bose is the touch functions. Personally I am impressed about how the Bose performs although it does not have a boom mic. On the other hand, the voice on the Jabra sounds more electronic or robotic whereas on the Bose it is much more natural. The Bose 700 UC is just amazing about the noise cancellation but the Jabra Evolve2 85 has a higher volume for the tone. After watching your video I had the same feeling about the audio test. large open spaces with constant noise, without a boom mic, I am not sure it would fare as well with a single speaker next to me while I’m on a call. The Jabra Evolve2 85 does a terrific job at blocking his voice from reaching my callers, and since the Bose doesn’t have a Boom mic, I am afraid it would not be able to block him, or a single person talking next to me.ĪNC algorithms are usually great with predictable sound paterns e.g. The collegue in front of me has a loud voice, and talks on the phone all day, so I need to shield myself in order to concentrate as well as prevent my clients from hearing him (witch they did when I used the Bose QC35). When Covid’s not changing our lives, we can be 6 people in the same big room with desks almost touching eack others, and sometimes there’s just 3 of us, with both my collegues talking on the the phone or teams right in front of me and next to me. I’ve recently heard about the Bose 700 UC, don’t know if they come in USB-C and I wonder how they fare in «small» open spaces. The thunder sound is sooo gooood (with a bit more bass in settings □).Įlse the headset is working perfectly in Teams, Zoom, FaceTime on Mac OS Big Sur without Jabra Direct. Only annoyance I get is that when connected to 380 and phone Bluetooth for a while, the headset won’t be recognized in Sound+ app and I’ll need to unplug the 380 and sometimes reboot the headset for this to work so I can get Soundscapes and focus while listening to thunder. I used a friends Mac running Catalina to update his 380 and mine, only to revert back to Windows for this task since it was not working on Mac. I am using sound+ on my phone to configure the headset, and my understanding is that Soundscapes are not available in Jabra Direct (sadly). I may need to clarify, I was already testing Big Sur while I bought the Evolve2 85, so I never used Jabra Direct with it, so apart from updating the 380 I don’t really feel the need for it. Yesterday, I asked them a question in Twitter ( ) and their response was just useless. We are Nov 14 and I'm still waiting for an initial contact from them. Is there any impact of not starting and using Jabra Direct ?Īs far as I'm concerned, further to a firmware upgrade on my Evolve2 85 and the fact that this firmware is totally broken (I downgraded the firmware in between), I logged about 3 tickets with the u/jabrasupport on Nov 2. At the same time, given the response from u/jabrasupport and the fact that nothing will change before 2021 (it's shameful of Jabra), which in some words means that they do not care about the Mac users, I do not think that I will wait until 2021 and will maybe use your workaround. I'm wondering if I should do that even though there is a workaround. I'm using the Jabra Link 380 with my Jabra Evolve2 85 and was just going to upgrade to MacOS Big Sur.
